Courchevel 1850

The Apex of Alpine Luxury in Les Trois Vallées

Courchevel 1850 is the undisputed jewel in the crown of the five villages that comprise the Courchevel resort. Synonymous with prestige and refinement, it is uniquely positioned on a mountainside at an altitude of 1750 to 1900 metres. Here, a world of impeccable service, architecturally significant chalets, and palatial hotels converges with a vast 600-kilometre ski domain. This is where Michelin-starred dining, haute couture boutiques, and exclusive apres-ski meet impeccably groomed, diverse slopes—a compelling formula that draws a global elite, season after season.

The Mountain

From Courchevel 1850, the entirety of the Les Trois Vallées—600 kilometres of pistes with a vertical drop from 1,260 to 3,230 metres—is your domain, accessed by a network of 220 lifts. The local Courchevel area alone offers 150 kilometres of skiing served by 61 lifts. The resort's lift system, capable of moving over 200,000 skiers per hour, is widely considered the most efficient in Europe. A product of significant investment, it is complemented by extensive snowmaking, flawless slope maintenance, and intuitive navigation.

The resort offers a masterful blend of meticulously groomed pistes and vast off-piste expanses. Its unique placement on the mountainside allows for endless improvisation; you can ski for weeks without repeating a single run. Novices will appreciate the dedicated ‘ZEN’ zones, with their wide, gentle green and blue pistes designed for confidence-building. For the expert, the summit of La Saulire and the challenging, steep couloirs of Creux Noir deliver the thrilling descents you seek.

Families should make for the Family Fun Park, a dedicated area for mastering winter sports, including half-pipes and simplified ski-cross tracks. For a unique adventure, brave the thrills of night skiing in the Family Park and on the Verdons slopes.

Mountain Guides

Venture beyond the lifts and the curated pistes to discover the mountain in its purest form. The Courchevel area is rich with opportunities for off-piste skiing, freerando, and freeriding. The key to accessing these pristine, untracked slopes safely is one of our experienced mountain guides, who specialize in high-mountain adventures, including heli-skiing. The most remote corners are best reached on skis or a splitboard.

Heli-Skiing

With heli-skiing heavily restricted in France, the ultimate adventure requires a brief, spectacular 15-20 minute helicopter flight from Courchevel to the pristine slopes of Italy. From your landing point, you will make your epic descent back into France. Private, customised itineraries are available upon request.

A Family-Centric Philosophy

As a resort awarded the "Famille Plus Montagne" label, Courchevel’s commitment to families is unequivocal. The resort provides nurseries for infants from six months and ski schools for toddlers as young as 18 months. When you secure your luxury serviced chalet with Dolce Villa, we seamlessly integrate every family necessity—from vetted nanny services and bespoke children’s menus to chalets with dedicated playrooms—ensuring your holiday is effortless and complete. Beyond the slopes, the resort offers a wealth of diversions: snowmobiling, ice skating, dog-sledding, pony rides, bowling, and hot-air ballooning. The highlight is the two-kilometre toboggan run, a 300-metre vertical descent of pure joy, which families can enjoy on toboggans, sporty bobsleds, or inflatable airbags.

The Dolce Villa Difference

Courchevel 1850 is not merely a destination; it is a standard. And a Dolce Villa Company is your access point. We have curated our chalets here for their unparalleled location, their architectural merit, and their ability to serve as a private sanctuary that mirrors the resort's own exclusivity. Our role is to handle the complexities—securing your guide, arranging your heli-skiing expedition, pre-booking the coveted dinner table—so your only focus is the mountain itself.
