Val-d'Isere

France
Renowned for its reliable snowpack, vast off-piste terrain, and seemingly endless skiable domain, Val d’Isère is the epitome of every serious skier's alpine aspiration.

The Mountain

Situated in the Savoie region of France, this exceptional resort rests at an altitude of 1,850 metres, ranking it among the highest in the Alps. The skiing reaches its pinnacle at 3,456 metres on the glacier of La Grande Motte. With over sixty percent of its slopes lying above 2,200 metres, the resort guarantees consistent snow conditions and an extended season.

Après-Ski

Val d’Isère offers a rich tapestry of après-ski, from a casual beer to a glass of the most refined champagne. Connoisseurs agree that the most vibrant celebration begins at the legendary La Folie Douce, perched at the top of the La Daille gondola. Here, the energy is palpable from midday, with world-class DJs entertaining the crowds into the evening. The village-based Cocorico Pub & Bar, located near the beginner slopes, has also become a resort favourite, its sun-drenched terraces drawing a appreciative crowd for live music by day.

The resort is dotted with inviting sun terraces perfect for a post-ski cocktail, found both on the mountain and in the village. For a more refined pause, we recommend the town restaurants Le Tincelle or Le Petit Danois.

Dining

When dining beyond your chalet, Val d’Isère caters to every preference and palate. The resort is celebrated not only for its variety but for its elevated cuisine, sure to impress the most discerning guests. By day, the slopeside *restaurants d'altitude* are filled with skiers enjoying hearty Savoyard specialities—fondue, tartiflette, and crozets. For a more refined lunch, secure a table at La Peau de Vache, known for its elegant and delicious dishes, including what many consider the best burgers on the mountain.

La Fruitière, a magnificently rustic-chic restaurant adjacent to La Folie Douce, serves exquisite traditional Savoyard cuisine. For fantastic barbecue and sublime pastries on a sun-soaked terrace, L’Ouillette in Solaise is an impeccable choice.

Evening dining in the village is equally compelling, led by the two-Michelin-starred L’Atelier d’Edmond in Le Fornet. Our team is pleased to provide personal recommendations and secure reservations. Other notable venues for a memorable meal include Baraque and the Fondue Factory, a restaurant featuring its own mini-museum.
